Card Experiment is delighted to present their new mythology series, translating and transforming the traditional Japanese tattoo art form of Wabori into playing cards. Yaksha are regularly represented in Japanese popular culture including appearances in anime and manga. The Hannya mask represents souls that have become demons because of obsession or envy. Yaksha Playing Cards revolves around the intricate and colorful visual elements from mythology & folktale. Inspired by different sources of folktales, stories and myths about the Yaksha and a few well-known ones are selected as sources of inspiration for the characters in the court cards.
