Small Biography of Harry Houdini :
Harry Houdini was born in 1874. His name was Erich Weiss. He changed his name in honor of the French prestidigitator Robert Houdin whom he admired.
He started his career with card tricks. He was excellent. It was in 1905 that he became a specialist in escape. He was nicknamed the "King of Escape".
He had already escaped from a prison where he was tied up in a cell. In addition to escaping under the noses of the guards, he changed cells for all the other prisoners.
He gave his last performance in Montreal in 1926 after which he died suddenly from peritonitis.
